This is a FREE page of playable (in Scorch), mostly printable music (Scorch and/or .pdf files -  $$ shows if not free to print)  This page features high quality music suitable for recorders in the classroom, Grades 1-3 and 4-6.  If you are a composer, arranger, music educator, or recorder student and you would like to add your piece/s to this page, please email me your files in Sibelius or Finale format and tell me what level students should be playing it. My email address is: bizweb5@yahoo.com  I will review them and post suitable pieces on this forum.  I hope this will become a resource for schools with limited (or zero!) music budgets.  All pieces will be posted as full scores and some as MMO to enable students to hear the full piece and also play along with it, setting the tempo as slow or fast as they like. The play-along part will usually be the top line (soprano or alto) but occasionally will be one of the other lines. Some copyrighted pieces posted here with permission from their publisher, will be available as play score and play-along in Scorch, but will not allow you to print or save them.  Scorch is a FREE download from Sibelius and will play with the most popular browsers in Windows and the Mac OS, but not Linux. Please note, Scorch installation is automatic for Internet Explorer, but not for other browsers such as Netscape, so please follow the installation instructions on the Sibelius page for other browsers (Linux users will be able to download any .pdf files). Preliminary (very restricted note range, slow tempos, long note values, very easy rhythms)

Grades 1-3 (limited range of notes, easy keys, few forked fingerings, slow to moderate tempo, relatively easy rhythms)

Grades 4-6 (fuller range of notes, forked fingerings,  some rapid passages, more difficult rhythms)

Improvisation - pieces which allow for improvised solos in one or more parts
